Job summary

131 Department of Corrections Consolidated Vehicle Fleet is seeking a Fleet Specialist V to oversee maintenance and repair of state vehicles. You will diagnose, repair, and supervise a repair facility, ensuring safety and efficiency in daily operations.

The role requires six years of automotive/diesel experience or equivalent and the ability to coordinate parts, schedules, and budgets within a state fleet environment.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in automobile, truck, or heavy equipment repair or equivalent.
• Ability to supervise and train staff in a fleet repair facility.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain repairs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor preventative maintenance on state vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic problems and use diagnostic tools.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and test equipment for safety.
• Prepare specifications and manage parts inventory and ordering.
• Supervise a repair facility and train technicians as needed.
