Job summary

The State of Oklahoma Department of Corrections Consolidated Vehicle Fleet is seeking a Fleet Specialist V at Red Rock Correctional Center. The role focuses on heavy vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and fleet management in a supervisory capacity, including coordinating repairs and training staff.

The position requires extensive hands-on mechanical work, budget awareness, and the ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-mechanical personnel.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in automobile, truck, heavy equipment maintenance and repair or equivalent education/experience.
• Knowledge of diagnostic tools and repair principles; ability to explain technical diagnoses to non-mechanical personnel.
• Experience supervising or coordinating a repair facility or team.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor preventive maintenance on state vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic problems using diagnostic tools and software.
• Inspect, test, and ensure safety and proper operation of equipment.
• Complete paperwork, write specifications, and manage inventory and parts.
• Supervise a repair facility, train staff, and evaluate engine malfunctions to determine repairs.
