Job summary

State of Oklahoma seeks a Fleet Specialist V to lead a repair facility within the Consolidated Vehicle Fleet at Red Rock Correctional Center. You will oversee preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on state vehicles and equipment, while guiding staff and ensuring safety.

The role requires six years of related experience or an equivalent education/experience mix, with supervisory responsibilities and strong communication skills to coordinate with other units and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Six years of experience in automobile, truck, light or heavy duty maintenance and repair.
  • Equivalent education/experience acceptable; one year of education/training may substitute for experience.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform major and minor preventative maintenance on state vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic issues; use diagnostic tools and software; weld and fabricate.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and inspect equipment for safety and operation.
  • Explain technical diagnoses to non-mechanical staff and participate in roadside assistance when needed.
  • Supervise a repair facility; train staff and manage priorities and parts inventory.
  • Plan, direct, and budget for fleet maintenance activities and equipment purchases.
