Job summary

City of Austin's Finance department seeks an Accountant IV in the Fixed Assets Accounting Department, serving as senior technical resource for asset transactions, reconciliations, and audit readiness. You will be the subject matter expert on fixed asset systems and the main liaison to management.

You will coordinate financial information for management, review complex transactions, lead general ledger activities, and mentor junior accountants while ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 24 accounting hours and 4 years of accounting experience.
• One year of lead or supervisory experience.
• Master's or CPA substitutions allowed per policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate financial information for management by reviewing complex transactions and preparing reports.
• Prepare complex GAAP-compliant financial statements and reports.
• Prepare audit work papers and respond to auditor questions in a timely manner.
• Lead reconciliations of general ledger and bank accounts and resolve discrepancies.
