Job summary

ZT Systems seeks a Sr Staff Firmware & Validation Test Engineer in Secaucus, NJ to define and execute validation strategies for firmware, BIOS, and BMC across complex platforms. You will build automated test frameworks to boost coverage and efficiency, perform extensive testing, and drive root-cause analysis to ensure release readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in firmware validation, BIOS validation, BMC validation, platform testing, or systems engineering.
• Hands-on experience developing automated test frameworks and validation tools using Python, Shell scripting, or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute validation strategies for firmware, BIOS, BMC, and platform management features across complex hardware systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks to improve test coverage, efficiency, and scalability.
• Create test plans, validation methodologies, and qualification criteria aligned with product requirements and release milestones.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, stress, performance, and reliability testing of firmware and platform components.
• Drive failure analysis investigations to identify root causes of firmware, hardware, and system-level issues.
• Collaborate with firmware, BIOS, hardware, validation, and quality engineering teams to resolve defects and improve product quality.
• Analyze test results, system logs, telemetry, and diagnostic data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop validation metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms that provide visibility into product readiness and quality.
• Support new feature bring-up, platform integration, and pre-production qualification activities.
