Job summary

Total Safety seeks a Tech IV Fire Technician to inspect, test, maintain and repair fire equipment on customer sites, including offshore environments. Responsibilities include detailed documentation, pre/post job briefs, and equipment handling.

Travel to customer sites is required; regulatory certifications and valid licenses must be maintained. Ideal candidates hold a High School diploma or GED with 2 years of field experience in fire protection, and preferably an Associate degree.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with at least 2 years in fire protection or related field.
• Associate degree in science or technical area strongly preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Willing to travel to customer sites, including offshore projects.
• Must obtain TWIC and pass safety training (OSHA 10, etc.).
• Texas State Fire Licenses (FAL/FEL) and NICET II within 12 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and understand English; capable of drafting technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire equipment and systems.
• Completes documentation for inspections/repairs with customer signature for invoicing.
• Conducts visual inspections and functional tests; reports deficiencies and recommends actions.
• Performs pre-job, job update, and post-job briefs.
• Assists with stocking, staging, and loading equipment for delivery.
• Maintains clean and orderly work areas; operates safety equipment and vehicles.
