Job summary

Total Safety is seeking a Fire Technician III to join a safety-conscious team in Texas. Responsibilities include inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of fire protection equipment, from extinguishers to fixed systems.

The role requires documentation, customer interaction, and field training of junior technicians. The position involves travel to customer sites, potential offshore work, and adherence to OSHA/NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of regulatory standards (OSHA, NFPA, CFR) applicable to fire protection.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record; forklift certification preferred.
• Forklift certification and basic safety handling required; travel to client sites/work offshore possible.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for short/long-term offshore projects.
• TWIC card and safety testing (Basic Plus, OSHA 10-hour) may be required.
• State Fire Licenses or NICET Level II/III in fire protection disciplines may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire equipment onsite or in the shop.
• Document all inspections/repairs and obtain customer signatures for invoicing.
• Conduct visual inspections and functional tests; report deficiencies and recommendations.
• Deliver pre-job, on-site, and post-job briefs to customers.
• Train customers and less experienced technicians.
• Assist with stocking, staging, and loading of equipment for delivery.
