Cuhaci Peterson Architects, Engineers & Planners, Inc. is seeking a licensed Fire Protection/Mechanical Engineer with extensive US-based design experience. The role involves leading design efforts, mentoring junior staff, and delivering construction documents in line with codes and project requirements.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering, with at least six years of experience and strong communication skills to coordinate with clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6 years of work experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the United States.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineering designers and teams.
• Knowledge of discipline-specific codes and building standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and design systems per policies and codes with minimal supervision.
• Resolve problems and conflicts on projects, make independent engineering decisions.
• Supervise subordinate personnel or assist engineers/designers as needed.
• Meet with Project Engineer/Project Manager to discuss scope, schedule and budget.
• Prepare design budgets and schedules; estimate man-hours for design requirements.
• Provide leadership and assign design tasks to designers; supervise to ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Review engineering designs for function, coordination, and constructability.
