Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to design fire protection systems for infrastructure projects. You will develop comprehensive designs, perform life safety analyses, and ensure compliance with NFPA, UFC, and local codes.

The role involves collaboration with sales on proposals, client meetings, and mentoring junior engineers. A hybrid work arrangement is offered along with travel up to 10% to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• PE license required.
• 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection engineering designs including sprinkler, suppression, pumps and alarm systems.
• Act as QFPE for federal projects with life safety analyses.
• Review designs for compliance with NFPA/UFC and local regulations.
• Collaborate with sales to prepare proposals and respond to RFPs.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff.
