Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• P.E. licensure is required.
• 5+ years in the AEC industry is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong organizational skills are required.
• Revit experience is required.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and email is required.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and curious personalities are required.
• Ability to work well with others under deadline situations is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development and calculations for fire protection systems across schematic, design development, and construction document phases.
• Independently perform fire protection design tasks including calculations, equipment sizing, and code compliance checks.
• Prepare technical documentation for fire protection systems and equipment schedules.
• Develop and review fire protection layouts in Revit with architectural and structural coordination.
• Coordinate fire protection design with internal disciplines and external consultants.
• Review and respond to RFIs and submittals with support from lead engineers.
• Perform field verification, assist with punch walks and construction observation visits.
• Mentor designers and interns in software use and calculation basics.
• Participate in internal and external project meetings and prepare agendas and minutes.
