Job summary
Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. in Fort Hood, Texas seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects.
You will serve as the subject matter expert for fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and applicable codes. This role includes design reviews, inspections, quality assurance, submittal reviews, acceptance testing, and coordination with project teams throughout all phases of construction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
- US Citizen and able to pass federal background and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Design reviews for fire protection systems in UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
- Attend project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful execution of fire protection features.
- Perform BCOES and plan-in-hand reviews, applying lessons from pre-construction through post-construction.
- Conduct inspections in compliance with project documentation and contract requirements.
- Schedule and conduct final acceptance testing of fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems.
