Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX.

You will act as SME for fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards across design reviews, inspections, testing, and coordination with project teams. The role requires PE licensure, 5+ years of experience, and US citizenship with the ability to pass a federal background check.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• US Citizenship and ability to pass a federal background review and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of fire protection requirements per UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful fire protection implementation.
• Perform BCOES and plan-in-hand reviews applying lessons from construction phases.
• Conduct inspections in line with contract documentation and approvals.
• Evaluate work practices to ensure compliance with fire protection codes and policies.
• Prepare detailed technical reports on deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Serve as a fire-safety consultant to project managers and government personnel.
• Review contractor submittals and provide comments and recommendations.
• Evaluate RFIs and review field changes.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance testing for systems.
• Perform QA oversight and document findings.
