Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX, focusing on fire and life-safety systems in accordance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards. The candidate will lead design reviews, inspections, QA, and coordination with project teams through all construction phases.

The role requires PE licensure, a minimum of five years of fire protection experience, and US citizenship with ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to prepare and review technical reports and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication for coordinating with stakeholders and government personnel.
• Experience coordinating multi-discipline teams on federal construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Understand UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards for fire protection.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure proper protection features.
• Perform plan reviews, site inspections, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• Review contractor submittals and respond with technical comments.
• Provide guidance on facility design, construction features, and life-safety systems.
• Schedule and conduct final system acceptance testing.
• Perform QA oversight and document findings during project execution.
