Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas.

You will serve as the SME for fire and life safety, ensuring UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA compliance across design reviews, inspections, QA, and submittal reviews. The role involves coordination with project teams, attendees at meetings, and execution across pre-construction to post-construction activities, with emphasis on safety and quality assurance for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; PE license required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Familiarity with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
• USACE or federal project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with stakeholders for fire protection features of work.
• Perform plan reviews and lessons learned from pre-construction to post-construction.
• Conduct inspections per approved documentation and contract requirements.
• Evaluate work practices to ensure compliance with fire protection codes and policies.
• Prepare technical reports identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Serve as fire-safety consultant to project managers and government personnel.
• Review contractor submittals and provide technical comments.
• Evaluate RFIs and review field changes.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance testing of fire systems.
• Perform QA oversight and document findings.
