Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX. The role focuses on fire/life safety system design, review, and project coordination across all construction phases.

Responsibilities include ensuring UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA compliance, conducting plan reviews, inspections, and acceptance testing, and providing guidance to project teams and government personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• USACE or federal project experience preferred.
• QA, commissioning, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA fire protection requirements.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with stakeholders for fire protection features.
• Perform plan reviews and site inspections per project docs.
• Review field changes and RFIs; provide technical comments.
• Provide guidance on facility design, construction features, and life-safety systems.
• Serve as fire-safety consultant to project teams and government personnel.
• Oversee QA and acceptance testing and ensure compliance with codes.
