Job summary

Jacobs' Mechanical Data Center team is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer/SME to lead fire protection across multiple data center projects, mentoring staff and defining standards.

You will collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, AHJs and internal teams to develop innovative fire protection designs that meet reliability, operational, and code requirements, including water-based suppression, pumps, pre-action, and special hazards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
15+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
Demonstrated experience as technical lead or SME.

Responsibilities

Lead fire protection design across Data Center projects and programs.
Provide technical leadership, code analysis, and life-safety engineering.
Develop design criteria, basis of design reports, and technical standards.
Oversee reviews and quality assurance across projects.
Coordinate with clients, AHJs, and multidisciplinary teams.
Support business development and proposals.
