Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer/SME for our Data Center practice. In this role, you will lead fire protection design across multiple projects, provide technical mentorship, and set standards to ensure reliability and code compliance.

You will collaborate with clients, AHJs, and internal teams to deliver transformative data center facilities, mentor staff, support business development, and help shape our fire protection capabilities in hyperscale environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• PE license required.
• 15+ years fire protection engineering experience.
• Experience as technical lead or SME.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection system design for data center projects.
• Perform code analysis and life-safety engineering.
• Develop design criteria, basis of design reports and standards.
• Oversee reviews and QA/QC across multiple projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and support staff.
• Support business development and client engagements.
