Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer / SME to lead fire protection for data center and mission-critical facilities. You will guide design teams, set technical standards, and ensure reliability and code compliance across multiple projects.

Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, AHJs, and leadership to shape fire protection strategies, mentor junior staff, and support business development in the data center market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 15+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a technical lead or subject matter expert.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection design for data center and mission critical projects.
• Oversee code compliance analyses (NFPA, IBC, IFC, FM Global).
• Develop design criteria, basis of design reports, and technical standards.
• Lead design reviews and QA/QC across multiple projects.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support growth initiatives.
