WSP USA is seeking a Sr. Consultant - Fire and Life Safety Engineer for our Atlanta, GA area with flexible locations including Orlando, FL and Miami, FL. Lead design and analysis of fire protection systems for buildings in public and private sectors, ensuring compliance with NFPA, IBC, and fire codes.

You will mentor junior staff, prepare technical reports, develop proposals, and manage project budgets while interfacing with clients and authorities to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of fire protection and life safety consulting experience.
• Experience in fire protection engineering design applications.
• REVIT and AutoCAD proficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Interpret building code, life safety, and fire code requirements (ICC/NFPA, IBC, NFPA 101).
• Review architectural drawings for code compliance.
• Negotiate with authorities on fire safety designs.
• Produce fire safety strategy documents to inform building form.
• Design fire protection and life safety systems (sprinklers, alarms, smoke control, egress).
• Perform fire engineering calculations (smoke modeling, evacuation analysis).
• Assist in commissioning fire protection systems.
• Interface with clients and organize in‑house resources.
• Follow quality control in project documentation.
