Job summary

WSP is seeking a Sr. Consultant - Fire and Life Safety Engineer for our multi-location team, with primary offices in Atlanta, GA and additional sites in Nashville, TN; Orlando, FL; Miami, FL; and Charlotte, NC. You will lead design, analysis, and project delivery for fire protection systems.

Responsibilities include code interpretation, review of drawings, mentoring staff, and contributing to proposals while ensuring quality and client objectives are met.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering degree.
5+ years of fire protection and life safety consulting experience.
Experience in fire protection engineering design applications.
REVIT and AutoCAD proficiency.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Interpret building code, life safety and fire code requirements (ICC/NFPA, IBC, NFPA 101).
Review architectural drawings for compliance with building and fire code requirements.
Design of fire protection and life safety systems (sprinklers, detection, smoke control, egress).
Perform fire engineering calculations (hand to 3D modeling) and assist commissioning.
Mentor junior staff and develop project proposals and budgets.
