Job summary

Henderson Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer in Denver to design complex building systems, prepare design documents, and perform engineering calculations in coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will mentor staff, lead design efforts, and contribute to business development while ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and quality requirements across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; 12 years of relevant experience required.
• PE license required and may count toward 1 year of relevant experience.
• FE exam preferred; sustainability certifications (CDP, LEED, WELL) preferred.
• Expert knowledge of building design, codes, and standards.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees preparation of design documents, layouts, drawings, schematics and specs.
• Leads projects from concept through completion.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specs.
• Mentors less experienced designers and engineers; provides technical guidance.
• Manages staffing and coordination to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develops client relationships and supports business development.
