Job summary

Henderson Engineers, Inc. in Phoenix seeks a Senior Fire Engineer to design complex building systems, prepare design documents, and perform engineering calculations in coordination with multi-discipline teams.

You will mentor staff and contribute to business development and risk management. The role requires PE license, broad knowledge of codes and standards, proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural) preferred; 12 years of relevant experience and high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• PE license required and may be counted toward 1 year of relevant experience.
• Certifications and accreditations aligned with the field (e.g., BEMP, CPD, CDP, NICET, RCDD) preferred.
• FE exam preferred; sustainability certifications (LEED, WELL) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees the preparation of design documents, system layouts, drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Leads project and design efforts from concept design through completion.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Performs research and makes recommendations on system feasibility and product selection.
• Mentors less experienced designers and engineers across teams, providing technical guidance.
