Job summary

SciensBuilding Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities. You will work with sales, field teams, and clients to ensure sound design and seamless installation and commissioning.

You must have five years of fire-life safety technician experience, NICET II or higher, NFPA 72 knowledge, and be able to program systems using a laptop. Travel and on-site collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a technician role within the fire-life safety industry.
• Advanced understanding of fire alarm circuit integrity and troubleshooting for circuit issues.
• Independent ability to program advanced system platforms using a laptop.
• Knowledge of fire alarm control units and field equipment termination.
• Ability to read smoke reports and program smoke control requirements.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings for installation and programming.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with onsite contractors.
• Advanced knowledge of NFPA 72, Section 907, Section 909, and Article 760 NFPA 70.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales for project success.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Program and commission complex fire alarm systems with customer and AHJ acceptance.
• Interact with AHJs for testing and issue resolution during final tests.
• Produce commissioning and inspection reports per NFPA standards.
• Manage project scheduling, safety, quality, and costs on site.
