Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician to program, commission, and troubleshoot fire alarm solutions. This role collaborates with our sales and project teams and with clients to ensure sound design and seamless installation and commissioning of systems.

You will review layouts, produce field surveys, program and commission systems, generate NFPA-compliant reports, troubleshoot issues, and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience as a technician in the fire-life safety industry.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems independently.
• Ability to terminate fire alarm control units and field equipment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with onsite contractors.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable codes.
• OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsabilités

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales for project success.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Program and commission complex fire alarm systems leading to AHJ acceptance.
• Produce commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective resolutions.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within budgets.
• Program systems via laptop computers.
• Support inventory oversight and vehicle inventory.
• Guide and assist other technicians.
• Assist in managing job scheduling and progress with focus on quality.
• Demonstrate proper operation of equipment to customers and explain usage of signals.
