Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions seeks an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities. You will work with sales, field teams, and clients to ensure sound design, installation, and commissioning of fire alarm solutions.

This role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate across departments. Travel may be required as part of project execution; OSHA 10 certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years in a fire-life safety technician role.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems independently.
• Ability to terminate fire alarm control units and field equipment with minimal supervision.
• Read fire system design drawings; work under deadlines.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 and related codes; OSHA 10 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales for successful project execution.
• Program and commission fire alarm systems and provide final acceptance reports to customers/AHJs.
• Produce detailed commissioning and inspection reports per NFPA standards.
• Assist in project scheduling and inventory oversight; support other technicians.
• Demonstrate equipment operation to customers and respond to system signals.
