Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities. This role collaborates with sales, field project teams, and clients to ensure sound design and seamless installation and commissioning of fire alarm solutions.

The position supports project execution with attention to detail, effective communication, and strong customer interface. Occasional overnight travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in a technician role within the fire detection and protection environment.
• Knowledge of current fire alarm systems.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems using a laptop computer.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 code requirements.
• Knowledge of Florida fire procedures, filing, and requirements.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales for project execution.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Program, commission and achieve final acceptance by customers and AHJs of complex fire alarm systems.
• Produce commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and resolve them effectively.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
