Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician to program, commission, and troubleshoot fire alarm solutions. You will work with sales and project teams to ensure sound design, installation, and customer acceptance by AHJs and authorities.

The role requires strong coordination, detailed reporting, and ability to travel as needed, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years in a technician role within the fire-life safety industry.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems independently.
• Ability to terminate fire alarm control units and field equipment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable fire codes (IFC/building codes).

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project mgmt, and sales for project success.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs.
• Program and commission fire alarm systems leading to customer acceptance.
• Produce commissioning and inspection reports per NFPA.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective resolutions.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
• Support field teams and manage job scheduling and progress.
• Communicate operation of equipment to customers and respond to signals.
