Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Service Technician IV to respond to service calls, troubleshoot electronic fire alarm and life safety systems, and perform timely repairs at customer sites. You will diagnose issues, read blueprints, and install or reprogram panels while maintaining clear communication with customers.

In addition to hands-on repair work, you will participate in on‑call rotations, mentor teammates as needed, and provide practical recommendations to improve facility performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment such as a multimeter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50-70 lbs.
• Willingness for flexible hours and overnight travel.
• Valid driver’s license and a fire alarm license.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and assess the problem.
• Diagnose issues and perform service and repairs on fire alarm systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and manuals.
• Program fire alarm and access control panels as part of service.
• Stay available for on‑call rotations and after-hours work.
• Provide recommendations and quotes that improve facility performance.
