Job summary

Openkrill is seeking a Senior Technical Practitioner to join a long-term engagement in a fast-growing financial services technology team. You will be a peer to senior engineers, shape architecture, identify risks, and solve complex, ambiguous problems with independent technical judgment.

You will design and review highly scalable payment and banking systems, drive reliability and security, mentor engineers, and work in an environment with evolving requirements and minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience as Staff/Principal/Architect or senior IC.
• Proven ability to design and own complex production systems.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex, ambiguous technical problems with senior stakeholders.
• Shape and review architecture for scalable, secure financial systems.
• Design production‑critical systems including payments and banking infrastructure.
• Investigate risks, provide actionable recommendations, and drive solutions.
• Lead architecture/code reviews and mentor engineers.
• Establish reliability, security, observability, and operating practices.
• Adapt to evolving requirements with minimal supervision.
