Job summary

Choice Digital is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems powering large-scale payments. You will join a growing team that values shared ownership, collaboration, and engineering excellence.

You will lead architecture decisions and implement secure, observable infrastructure with microservices, CI/CD, and resilient APIs used by enterprise clients. The role emphasizes security, quality, and fast iteration in a payments-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• 5+ years of software design and development experience.
• Basic knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or AWS and containerization/infrastructure-as-code tools (Docker, Terraform).
• Thorough understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Development.
• Experience with software testing methodologies and strategies.
• Mastery of Python and an ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Very comfortable with SQL and noSQL databases, such as Postgres and Redis.
• Understanding of Git/Source Control best practices.
• Ability to adjust priorities to delivery schedules.
• Must have a passion for building GREAT software.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own various backend components of the Choice Digital platform.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement solutions using micro-service and service-oriented architectures.
• Enhance existing DevOps for best practices for continuous integration, testing, deployment, and scaling.
• Ensure implementation meets the highest quality and security standards.
