Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Austin, TX seeks a Financial Examiner V to perform highly complex financial examinations of cost and compliance reports for Medicaid and related services. This role ensures accuracy of data, adherence to GAAP, and supports reimbursement methodologies.

The position requires reviewing supporting documentation, coordinating with staff and providers, and testifying as needed. Telework is eligible; regular in-office presence may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college with major coursework in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or related field.
• CPA/CIA/CISA/CFE/CGAP certifications preferred.
• Experience in financial examinations or audits is required.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular, predictable schedule and performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs financial examinations and peer reviews of cost reports and financial compliance.
• Manages workload to meet deadlines for peer reviews and examinations.
• Communicates findings to management and providers and prepares timely reports.
• Assists in evaluating processes and implementing improvements.
• Completes special projects as assigned by management.
