Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin, TX is seeking a Financial Examiner V to lead complex financial examinations, cost reports, and compliance reviews for Medicaid and related programs. The role emphasizes peer reviews, quality assurance, and testimony in related proceedings.

Qualified candidates will have strong accounting knowledge, familiarity with GAAP and state rules, and the ability to manage multiple projects while communicating findings to providers and agency

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university preferred in accounting, business, finance, economics, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial examinations, financial operations, budgeting, accounting, or auditing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform financial examinations and peer reviews of cost reports and financial compliance.
Manage workload to meet deadlines and coordinate peer reviews.
Communicate findings with management, providers, and cost report preparers; issue reports and deliverables.
Assist in evaluating examination processes and implement improvements.
Complete special projects as assigned by the Manager or Director.
