Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin is seeking a Financial Examiner V to perform highly complex financial examinations of cost reports and compliance reviews. The role supports reimbursement rate methodologies and requires strong analytical and reporting skills.

The examiner conducts peer reviews, coordinates with providers and staff, and may testify in hearings as an expert witness.

Formación

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant financial examination, accounting, or audit experience may be substituted for education on a year-to-year basis.

Responsabilidades

• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs financial examinations and peer reviews of financial compliance and cost reports, submitted by contracted providers, to include financial data, statistical data, and supporting documentation.
• Links with management staff and external contacts to resolve problems and deviations from examination requirements, and prepares timely reports and deliverables.
• Assists in evaluation of examination processes and implements improvements.
• Completes additional or special projects as assigned by the Manager or Director.
