Job summary

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Office of Unemployment Insurance Operations, is seeking a Finance/Accounting professional to supervise daily cash management and ensure accurate reporting for the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund. The role involves staff oversight, deposits/withdrawals, and collaboration with state agencies from Columbus, Akron, or Dayton.

Qualifications

• 54 months experience or 54 months training in accounting &/or finance including an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
• Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field.
• AND 30 months experience or 30 months training in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
• Completion of graduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; AND 18 months experience or 18 months training in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadhseet software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff who handle daily cash management tasks
• Approve deposits and withdrawals for the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund
• Make sure all federal reports are accurate and submitted on time
• Review staff ledger entries to ensure they are correct and follow requirements
• Ensure state and county child support agencies receive the correct withheld payments
• Communicate with customers occasionally by phone, email, or other methods
• Train and develop staff so they become skilled, confident and effective in their roles
