This Senior Financial Aid Specialist supports the Financial Aid function at Herzing University with policy, procedure, technology, and process optimization needs. This role requires high attention to detail and technical proficiency. The Senior Specialist also needs the ability to generate innovative ideas. The role reports to the Director of Financial Aid - Compliance and serves on the Financial Aid Compliance Team within the Home Office division.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of Title IV administration experience preferred; minimum 1 year of related experience required.
  • Experience with automated systems and processes preferred.
  • Experience with policy, procedure, and data system development using automation preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations related to financial aid eligibility and processing preferred.

Pay: Compensation is based on qualifications, experience, and circumstances. The hourly range is $27.79 to $37.60. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform internal audits of funding programs and collaborate on staff training.
  • Analyze and recommend process improvements leveraging technology and reporting.
  • Support UAT for system upgrades, including designing test plans and executing testing.
  • Partner with campus leadership on budget utilization, staffing, and resource management.
  • Maintain the FWS Tracker and resolve issues promptly.
  • Configure Financial Aid software for award year setup and system functionality.
  • Assist Financial Aid staff with troubleshooting and policy review.
  • Commit to continuous process improvement and innovation.
