This Senior Financial Aid Specialist role supports the Financial Aid function at Herzing University, focusing on policy, procedures, technology, and process improvements. The role requires high attention to detail, technical proficiency, and innovative thinking. The Senior Specialist serves on the Financial Aid Compliance Team, reporting to the Director of Financial Aid - Compliance.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of Title IV administration experience preferred; minimum 1 year required.
• Experience with automated systems and processes preferred.
• Experience in policy, procedure, and data system development using automation preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations preferred.

Compensation: Pay is based on qualifications and experience, with a range of $27.79 to $37.60 hourly. Benefits include tuition waiver and reimbursement, health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan. Learn more about careers at Herzing University.

Primary Duties:

• Conduct internal audits of funding programs and collaborate on staff training.
• Analyze and recommend improvements to financial aid processes leveraging technology.
• Support system upgrades through UAT, designing test plans, and executing testing.
• Partner with campus leadership on budget utilization and resource management.
• Maintain the FWS Tracker and resolve issues promptly.
• Configure financial aid software for award year setup.
• Assist financial aid staff with system troubleshooting and policy review.
• Focus on continuous improvement in efficiency, accuracy, student satisfaction, and innovation.
