Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a Senior Manager of Operations- Final Mile to lead cross-dock coordination and manage budgets, P&L, and labor costs for local and regional home delivery networks. You will work to reduce damages, improve delivery windows, and cut return costs while guiding a team including a Team Assistant Manager of Operations and a Terminal Manager.

In this role, you will engage with customers and industry partners to promote expanded services, plan efficient use of materials and staff, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Responsibilities

• Coordinates distribution and warehousing in a cross-dock operation
• Build and manage the annual operational budget, P&L, and labor costs
• Lead daily operations for local and regional big and bulky home delivery networks
• Reduce damage rates, missed delivery windows, and return product costs
• Resolve high-escalation customer complaints regarding damaged property or late arrivals
• Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area
• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees
• Participates in marketing and sales efforts, ensuring assigned facilities have the resources necessary to meet company goals and objectives, as well as P&L responsibilities
• Manages direct reports to include Team Assistant Manager of Operations and Terminal Manager
• Responsible for Recruitment and retention of contract carriers
