Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a Director of Operations- Final Mile to direct warehouse, distribution and inventory management for assigned facilities. The role focuses on safe, profitable operation and includes leadership of local teams to meet service goals.

The position requires 7–10 years of related experience, a 4-year degree, and expertise in budgeting, route optimization, and labor management. GEODIS emphasizes transparency and growth across 160+ U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university.
• Minimum 7 to 10 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience and/or knowledge of storage and shipment of food grade items preferred
• Experience with both inbound and outbound international shipments preferred
• Knowledge of labor management systems

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for local and regional big and bulky home delivery networks.
• Optimize daily delivery routes for heavy items like appliances and furniture.
• Build and manage the annual operational budget, P&L, and labor costs.
• Track key metrics like On-Time Delivery (OTD), cost-per-stop, and revenue per truck.
• Hire, train, and manage warehouse staff and logistics coordinators
• Communicates best practices nation wide
• Initiates process improvement teams
• Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area
• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employee resources
• Reviews costs and makes changes/recommendations to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division
