Job summary

Flagger Force is seeking a Field Trainer 2 in Scranton, PA to deliver hands-on and classroom training for field employees, promoting safety and quality standards while modeling company values. You will balance on-site coaching with classroom instruction (about 50/50), assess student performance, review training materials, and help develop junior instructors.

Occasional travel within 1-2 hours is required. A high school diploma and DOT qualifications are expected; MS Office skills and strong

Qualifications

• Expertise in hands-on field training techniques.
• Ability to identify and support student career development.
• Proficient in maintaining high student engagement levels.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly and manage time effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Steel toed boots or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Must hold all required Department of Transportation qualifications for assigned territory.
• Valid driver's license in accordance with Flagger Force motor vehicle record standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on training and classroom instruction to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Identify and support student career development and professional advancement.
• Maintain high student engagement with interactive teaching methods.
• Deliver classroom instruction roughly 50% of monthly assignments.
• Administer hands-on training for various courses with practical application of skills.
• Test, evaluate, and record grades; dismiss non-eligible students.
• Monitor engagement and learning levels across classes.
• Review training materials for accuracy and relevance.
• Identify potential instructor candidates and help develop junior instructors.
• Keep the classroom organized and maintain inventory of materials.
• Provide field on-the-job training about 50% of monthly assignments.
• Support BWZ checklist process and DRIVE program per protocols.
• Daily coaching and guidance for field employees.
• Submit BWZ checklists to Training team.
• Travel within 1-2 hours from home; overnight stays when needed.
• Represent the organization professionally to clients and employees.
