Job summary

Matthews Marking Systems is seeking a Sr. Field Service Technician based in the Los Angeles area to deliver on-site installation, training, troubleshooting, repair and upgrades of our equipment.

You will work with customers, distributors and sales to install stand-alone systems or complex integrations, including PLCs, encoders and sensors, while promoting maintenance agreements and spare parts. You will travel across California and surrounding states, perform start-ups, mentor junior

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or certification/apprenticeship in technical, mechanical, electrical technology or related field.
• 6+ years of previous Service Technician experience; or equivalent education/experience.
• Travel locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.

Responsibilities

• Installs systems including custom applications.
• Performs start-ups of equipment and conducts maintenance/repairs.
• Communicates with customers to resolve service issues and advise on investments.
• Provides technical assistance via phone/email and coordinates with teams for problem resolution.
• Develops and conducts training on safe operation of equipment for customers and distributors.
• Maintains inventory, tool kits, repair parts, and company vehicle.
• Supports sales during visits and with new products; updates Salesforce and billing information.
• Keeps Salesforce calendars and cases updated; collaborates with engineering on schematics and service.
• Trains, mentors and coaches less-tenured technicians on service jobs.
• Additional duties as assigned.
