Job summary

UES is seeking an Experienced CMT Field Technician to support engineering, materials testing, and inspection projects. This role involves performing advanced field and laboratory testing, conducting on-site inspections, and ensuring projects meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

You will enjoy working outdoors, collaborating with project teams, and mentoring junior technicians. Must be technically skilled, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced field

Qualifications

• IHgh school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in construction, engineering, geology, or related fields preferred.
• 3+ years of field-based experience in materials testing, construction inspection, geotechnical fieldwork, or related industry.
• ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing certification preferred or ability to obtain within a set timeframe.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles.
• Commitment to safety, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Field Data Collection (FDC) software or similar tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, procedures, manuals, and technical reports.
• Strong problem-solving, time management, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel up to ~70% and work variable schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials to ensure spec compliance.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories following proper procedures.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Complete detailed test reports and submit them to project managers on time.
• Communicate project status and site conditions with dispatch and field supervisors.
• Mentor junior field technicians when needed and support team development.
• Follow OSHA, client, and company safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Adapt to changing project requirements, including early morning, weekend, or overnight work.
• Travel to multiple job sites within the designated region as required.
