Job summary

UES is seeking a motivated CMT Field Technician to support engineering, construction, and environmental projects. In this hands-on role, you’ll perform inspections, materials testing, and sampling on job sites to ensure quality and safety.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working outdoors. This role involves travel up to 70% and working with diverse teams across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of field experience in construction materials testing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soils and concrete, including density and slump tests.
• Observe and document field activities per specifications (ASTM/AASHTO).
• Collect samples and maintain chain-of-custody.
• Prepare daily field reports and submit timely.
• Communicate findings with project teams and clients.
• Ensure equipment calibration and safety compliance.
• Travel to multiple sites and assist with on-site safety procedures.
