Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is a NETA-accredited organization providing electrical testing, commissioning, and maintenance across North America. The Field Technician III leads crews, performs advanced testing, and troubleshoots complex substation equipment while ensuring safety and quality in critical field operations.

This role supports engineers and project teams during commissioning, coordinates field activities, and mentors junior technicians to uphold best practices.

Qualifications

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as this is a safety-sensitive role.
• Background check required for employment.
• Ability to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead field crews and execute advanced testing and maintenance on high, medium, and low voltage equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues using schematics and diagrams.
• Direct repair, replacement and maintenance activities to restore equipment functionality.
• Support installation and commissioning activities, including functional testing and system verification.
• Review and ensure accuracy of field documentation such as test reports and logs.
• Coordinate daily field activities with engineers and project managers.
