Job summary

Electric Power Systems, a leading electrical testing and engineering firm, seeks an experienced Field Technician III in Las Vegas to lead field crews, perform advanced testing, and troubleshoot substation equipment. The role emphasizes safety, mentorship, and collaboration with engineers during commissioning and critical field operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in the industry, NETA III certification, and experience with LV/MV/HV systems, transformers, and switchgear.

Qualifications

• Requires pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Willingness to travel out of town and work overtime as needed.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings and enforce PPE and safe work practices on site.
• Oversee field testing and maintenance of high/medium/low voltage equipment.
• Perform advanced testing of circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical/control issues using schematics and diagrams.
• Direct repair, replacement, and maintenance to restore equipment functionality.
• Support installation and commissioning activities and perform functional tests.
• Review test results, identify abnormalities, and escalate/correct issues.
• Coordinate daily field activities with engineers and other crews.
• Mentor junior technicians and reinforce best practices.
