Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a qualified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician I to join our Charlotte team. You will perform observations, testing, sampling, and reporting across soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials, supporting project execution with experienced management.

As you gain experience, ECS will support your professional development and certification opportunities while mentoring junior staff in field procedures and documentation.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Two advanced certifications applicable to the work performed.
• Valid driver's license needed for ECS subsidiaries.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to lift up to ~85 lbs.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt, structural steel, and related materials.
• Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results.
• Performs calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials.
• Assists in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution.
• Trains and mentors Technician I and Technician II staff in field procedures and documentation.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
