Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Testing Senior Field Technician for the Houston team. The role involves observing, testing, sampling, and inspecting materials on construction sites under senior supervision.

You will prepare field reports and ensure compliance with industry standards while collaborating with project managers and technicians. Applicants should have 2+ years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, and be willing to maintain certifications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience
• High School diploma or GED
• Must have and be willing to maintain current basic level certifications and an additional 2 advanced certifications
• OSHA 10 is a plus
• Position requires lifting 40-70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally 85 lbs
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance
• Must provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - Mileage reimbursed
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Excellent understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures
• Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors
• Proficiency with electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops
• Strong math skills with the ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans
• Basic knowledge of MS Office

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Observe, test, sample, and inspect materials on construction sites.
• Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field tests for soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and draft field reports documenting site observations.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Training and Development: Receive ECS methodology training for project observations, inspections, and testing.
