Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician I to join our Harrisonburg, VA team. The role involves field observation, testing, sampling, and reporting on soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials alongside experienced project managers.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, two advanced certifications, OSHA 10 if required, and the ability to lift up to 85 lbs. A valid driver’s license is required for field travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two advanced certifications applicable to the field work.
• General OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license if driving for ECS subsidiary.
• Advanced knowledge of construction materials testing principles and standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt, structural steel, and related materials.
• Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results.
• Trains and mentors Technician I and Technician II staff in field procedures and documentation.
