Job summary

Honeywell in Acton, MA is seeking a Lead Field Service HVAC Controls/BAS Technician to oversee advanced service and installation of building automation systems. You will troubleshoot, commission, and optimize HVAC controls, serving as the technical lead for field projects and mentoring junior technicians.

The role is onsite in Acton with a focus on delivering high-quality service, adherence to safety standards, and timely project execution across DDC platforms and networked controllers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC controls and building automation systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, DDC systems, and BAS technologies.
• Proficiency in advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing complex HVAC control issues.
• Experience programming, configuring, commissioning, and modifying HVAC control systems (DDC).
• Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring to other technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite installation, commissioning and service of Honeywell BAS and HVAC systems.
• Provide direction, training, and support to technicians, subcontractors, and customers.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics of HVAC control systems (VAVs, AHUs, chillers, boilers).
• Program and commission Honeywell platforms (Spyder, CIPer, WEBs, EBI, Niagara).
• Interpret control drawings and sequences of operation to ensure proper integration.
• Conduct startups, verification, testing, and commissioning to meet project specs.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers to resolve technical issues and maintain schedules.
• Identify system optimization opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reliability.
• Provide mentorship to junior technicians.
