Job summary

Honeywell in Connecticut is seeking an Advanced Field Service Engineer to provide expert support and service for HVAC control systems and BAS. You will lead onsite installation, commissioning, and diagnostics, acting as the technical lead on projects and mentoring junior technicians.

The role requires deep knowledge of Honeywell BAS platforms (Spyder, WEBs, EBI) and open protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC controls and Building Automation Systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and BAS technologies.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex HVAC control issues.
• Experience with programming and configuring HVAC control systems, including DDC controllers and software.
• Niagara 4 Certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
• Advanced knowledge of Honeywell BAS platforms (Spyder, WEBs, EBI).
• Strong troubleshooting across HVAC controls, DDC systems, and open protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
• Excellent customer communication and technical documentation skills.
• Commitment to upholding Honeywell's values, safety standards, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite installation, commissioning, and service of Honeywell Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues involving legacy and current BAS controllers and integrated systems.
• Serve as the technical lead on projects and mentor junior technicians and subcontractors.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics of HVAC controls, including VAVs, AHUs, chillers, boilers, sensors, actuators, and networks.
• Program, configure, and commission Honeywell platforms such as Spyder, WEBs, EBI, and Niagara-based systems.
• Perform system analysis, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and verify proper operation.
• Interpret drawings, wiring schematics, and sequences of operation to ensure integration.
• Conduct startups, point-to-point verification, and functional testing to meet specs and customer needs.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, customers, and trades to resolve issues and maintain schedules.
• Identify system optimization opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure documentation, redlines, service reports, and as-built drawings meet Honeywell standards.
• Maintain adherence to Honeywell safety protocols and quality processes.
