Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Field Services Technician to install, transition, and sustain next-generation Voice Communication Switch systems. The role emphasizes site preparation, cutovers, and decommissioning in operational environments, with extensive travel and remote work.

You will work independently with customers, solve complex technical issues, and ensure seamless voice system transitions while maintaining thorough documentation and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Voice Communication Switch (VCS) systems.
• Experience supporting system cutovers, migrations, or technology refresh efforts.
• Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause diagnostic skills.
• Excellent documentation and reporting discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support site surveys, site preparation, and system installation.
• Execute VCS system cutovers from legacy to next-generation systems.
• Perform decommissioning of legacy voice systems.
• Conduct independent testing and validation of power, cabling, and equipment.
• Maintain diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance of VCS and telecom/IT infrastructure.
• Provide on-site customer support and end-user training.
• Maintain technical documentation, service reports, and cutover records.
• Ensure safety protocols and site security compliance.
• Coordinate with engineers and program teams during deployment.
